As we conclude our special Young Gunners series, this episode turns to the heart of each campaign. The closing message that candidates want young lawyers across Texas to carry with them as they cast their vote.
SPEAKER_00Young lawyers are the future of our profession. We are the front lines of our profession. As if I'm elected president, I am committed to making sure that all the resources that are available are going to help young lawyers. And uh I think that all starts with recognizing uh the importance and priority of mental health uh issues uh for young lawyers. So that's that's my number one priority, that's my message, that's what I want to uh spend my time working on if I'm president. Uh and I think that uh if that's something that resonates with you, if you have experienced those issues, or if you have a friend or a colleague that's experienced those issues, uh your vote is safe with me because that's going to be my priority uh if I'm president.
SPEAKER_03Thank you so much, Dave. We appreciate everything you've shared with us and we really appreciate your candidacy. Um and uh Claire, we'll kick it over to you. What are your last thoughts that you want to share with uh the voters here as we head into April?
SPEAKER_01I think above all, uh as young lawyers and all lawyers, the practice of law is not meant to be done alone. Whether you're a solo practitioner, a first-year lawyer, in a big law firm, in a big public service office, in a non-traditional role, um, it's not meant to be done alone. We have to do it together. There are resources that help us to make the practice of law less isolating, um, to make you feel supported. There's someone who has done it before you, there's someone who is doing it alongside of you, and I would like to do it with you. And so that's why I'm asking you for your vote.
SPEAKER_03Thank you also, Claire. You know, again, appreciate your candidacy and all the work that both of you have put into this campaign and into TYLA for the past years. Uh, and very much appreciate having you on.
SPEAKER_00Thanks, Ashton.
SPEAKER_01Thank y'all.
